A World Class Program...

More than 4,000 schools so far have chosen to teach International Baccalaureate® (IB) programmes, with their unique academic rigour and their emphasis on students’ personal development. Those schools employ over 70,000 educators, teaching more than one million students worldwide.

International Baccalaureate, better known as the IB Program was designed through an international cooperative effort and is based in Geneva, Switzerland. This program offers an academically challenging curriculum emphasizing the philosophy of learning and the integration of disciplines. The IB diploma is designed for the last two years of high school. It can be supported by a curriculum beginning as early as elementary school. Because it is a comprehensive two-year program it can be difficult to transfer during that last two years and complete the IB diploma at a different school. Individual tests, however, can be taken for courses completed even if the full diploma program is not completed.

International Baccalaureate® (IB) programs aim to do more than other curricula by developing inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who are motivated to succeed.

At ISSTA, our staff and faculty strive to develop students who will build a better world through intercultural understanding and respect. ISSTA's primary mission is to foster a positive learning environment while using state-of-the-art technology that is in sync with the prospective work opportunities for this up and coming generation.

ISSTA encourages students to be curious and creative, while learning to bridge theoretical applications with practical real-world international educational experiences. ISSTA's value proposition is one which prepare students to be responsible and contributing leaders in society, while crossing international borders in activity and experiment.

ISSTA explores this dynamic global and opportunistic space through virtual and augmented reality programming, as well as multi-lingual learning adventures, and of course, camraderie amongst a fine group of on-campus residential peers. The diversification of teachings coupled with the disposition of the learning environment allows for any child in IB or AICE to enjoy their time on this innovative university style campus, and achieve a knowledge greater than many of their generational counterparts.

IB program frameworks can operate effectively with national curricula at all ages; more than 50% of IB World Schools are state-funded. It is essentially, a private and prestigious education for those that meet the requisite criteria.

The IB's programmes are seemingly different from other curricula because they:

  • encourages students of all ages to think critically and challenge assumptions
  • develop independently of government and national systems, incorporating quality practice from research and our global community of schools
  • encourages students of all ages to consider both local and global contexts
  • develop multilingual students

Perhaps, one of the most exciting elements of the IB program at ISSTA is the diversification of career positions many students who have attended an IB school get offered. From art museum curators, diplomats, presidential roles, specialized surgeons, attorneys, engineers, linguists and other top notch positions, the IB Program is seen as the epitomy of elite academic tracks worldwide.
