Students may begin checking in at 8:00 a.m. on the Thursday the week before classes start. Our residence hall front desks are open 24 hours a day to assist you with move-in during this time. Check the orientation and registration schedule you will received separately regarding dining, amenities, and on-campus events. The week prior to classes ISSTA will be offering a multitude of activties for students, their families, and staff so that each individual can get to know each other.

FALL AND SPRING BREAK

INFORMATION

Detailed break information is available at School Calendar Start Dates. There will be several emails, social media notifications, as well as other memorandum provided to give detail instructions regarding the break period.

There is a $50 improper checkout charge per day, and staff will escort a student out if the student has not left the campus during the necessary dorm closing time. However, this fee does nto apply to those students residing on campus for specialty weeks as detailed in their tuition plan.

RESIDENTIAL HALL

DESK AND INFORMATION

Each residence hall front desk is open 24 hours a day*, seven days a week during specific times of the school year (such as beginning weeks prior to and upon completion of the school year). Additional times during regular school hours include 12 hours on site and 24 hours via telephone or email. The desk staff is there to assist you or direct you to the best resource. Here you will find extra keys, cleaning items, games, movies, sports equipment, various kinds of other equipment, and your mail. The hall desk is an excellent place to gain information about almost anything that is happening in the hall, on campus, or in the community.

LAUNDRY SERVICES

Each residence hall has laundry facilities located in the building. Residents use their ISSTACashCard to do laundry. Swipe your card at the laundry controller in your hall's laundry room, and select your machine. You can add value to and maintain your ISSTACashCard account at the concierge service desk or at the student lounge.

Laundry, Dry Cleaning Concierge Services are available through the intranet at your campus account. Requests may be made for services there.

MAIL AND PACKAGE

INFORMATION

Each room has a mailbox with a corresponding number in the front desk area of the hall. Mailboxes are shared by the occupants of the room. You will receive your mail without delay if it is addressed in the following manner:

Using "ISSTA Campus" or the University zip code "32827" in the address will delay arrival since residence hall mail is delivered directly from the local Post Office to the residence halls.

Because a photo ID is required to identify package recipients, packages addressed to someone who does not live in the room (such as parents) or using a nickname will be returned to sender. Ordering items under an alias or fictitious name, opening someone else's mail is considered mail fraud.

TELEVISION, OTHER PERIPHERALS AND INTERNET

SERVICES

Each room is equipped with a cable TV hookup providing 100+ channel selections, some in Digital and HD, as well as 4 USB ports, and 2 data lines. If you have a cable-ready TV there is no extra charge or equipment necessary for these basic services. For channel listings, further information, and a downloadable TV Channel Guide through their on-site resources in the Intranet.

INTERNET CONNECTIVITY

In order to use the high-speed Internet connection, residents must have a LEGAL copy of an operating system (OS) and meet basic security requirements. These requirements include up-to-date OS patches, antivirus definitions, and antispyware definitions. All Administrative level and user accounts on personal computer systems must be password protected. There are hard-wired data connections in each residence hall room. You are responsible for your computer system regardless of where it is used or by whom. For problems with your network connection or Network Access Control related issues, please call or leave a voice mail with the ISSTA Technology Services Help Desk Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

OTHER PERIPHERALS

Each student is provided with one virtual reality headset and one bluetooth wireless earphone set to be returned upon graduation. Should a student lose or damage said items, student will incur a $75 fine plus the replacement cost of the device.

Each dorm room is issued (2) 3D Television devices to watch the latest movies and videos 3D technology has to offer.

Any student having an issue witha device may put in a Work Order Request to have the device fixed at any time. Please allow the Technology Services Team 48 hours to process said request. Only the student making the request may pick up or return the damaged device. Please download the Work Order Request form here.

PERSONAL ROUTER

DEVICES

PERSONAL WIRELESS ROUTERS ARE NOT PERMITTED in the residence halls. Persons installing wireless access points/routers will have their network privileges revoked. Wireless access is available on the Housing Wireless Network throughout all residence halls.

OTHER DEVICES

Some hardware will not initially work on the Housing Network without registering it or speaking with an ISSTA Technology Services representative. If you have other devices that will not work with the current network and need to be registered on campus and synced with our technology– e.g. game systems, VoIP phones, DVR's, Ipads – use the registration form to associate the device with your account. ISSTA provides insurance on all devices for $50 per month up to 3 devices.

TECHNOLOGY ACCESS

SPECIAL NEEDS

Do you have difficulty accessing a standard computer or electronic information due to a disability? The Assistive Technology Resource Center (ATRC) located in the Office Health and Wellness provides necessary devices free of charge too all students requiring such devices. This pertains to those students who have languge or auditory processing issues, experience pain when computing, need adjustable screens for vision problems, or a different style mouse or keyboard. ISSTA wants to ensure that each child is able to leanr in an environment they feel most comfortable.
